Memory Foam

Pyrography on wood, 2019

34 x 48.4 x 71.7 (cm)

Memory Foam was built to explore the subject of inevitable death. The work was based upon witnessing the process of aging death on the artist's grandfather. Which soon came after, a question of what is left behind when one dies. The memories which holds no physical form are presented metaphorically as the pillow that the dead once lay on. The memory foamed pillow continues to comfort the living until the day where the cycle goes on and it captures the form of the living as well.
