Of White

Oil on wood, 2019

19 x 22.7 x 28.5

Of White is a portrait of the artist's adopted dog to commemorate the suffering it once went through. The senior aged dog like other animals that lived in a breeding farm was kept in an unhealthy environment and was sold in low price after having given birth. After realising that they were not ready for a pet, the owner then put up the dog for adoption once again. The dog then developed gall Bladder stone where it had to undergo a risked surgery for it. Of white represents the time of suffering and also of the tilted human nature within the society in the artist's attempt to highlight the dangers of commercial pet businesses.
